On April 8th 2024, Western New York will experience a once in a lifetime spectacle in the sky, a total solar eclipse. But the magic doesn’t end there, Geneseo will be a hub full of festivities and events dedicated to this awe-inspiring moment. Learn more about what is in store!
Solar Eclipse Jam at the Village of Geneseo
An out of this world celebration at the heart of Geneseo, surrounded by community members and friends! Live music from Groveland station will be provided along with food trucks and a heated tent!
Lunar Ball at the Wadsworth Homestead
Basque in an evening of dinner, drinks & dancing in the moonlight! Tickets can be purchased to enjoy a seated dinner and dance celebrating the eclipse at the Historic Wadsworth Homestead on April 6th. Attendance includes parking and on-site viewing space for the eclipse on Monday, along with other custom goodies!
Geneseo Symphony Orchestra
The Geneseo Symphony Orchestra performance with conductor Dr. Leah McGray will be open to the public at 3pm on April 7th in Wadsworth Auditorium. Performances include "Destined," featuring two of this season's Concerto Competition winners, guest conductor Dr. Jamal Duncan with Guiseppi Verdi's Overture to "La Forza del Destino" and selections from Gustav Holst's famed suite "The Planets" to prepare for the eclipse the next day!
Salutations to the Sun at Shakti Yoga
Salutations to the Sun is a 2 hour workshop set for April 7th at Shakti Yoga. Participants will engage with both the energizing practice of Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation sequences), followed by deeply relaxing Restorative Yoga poses and meditation. Learn more on their website.
Collective Empowerment Session at the Riviera Theatre
Elevate your energy before the eclipse! Empire Moon will be hosting an empowerment session at the Riviera theatre, with aligning and energizing practices. doors open at 12:30 pm, with an official start time of 1:11pm on April 8th!
Divided Sky: A Totality Tailgate at Strange Design
Occurring on eclipse day, April 8th, the 4 person Totality Tailgate tickets include a curated lunch buffet, with 5 oz. beer & cider tastings available. While ticket sales have now ended, you can still enjoy their two new beer releases in honor of the eclipse starting April 5th-One Knight to Remember Imperial Pilsner and Blackout Stout.!

Eclipse Viewing Party at the Wadsworth Homestead
Ring in this historic event at none other that the Wadsworth Homestead, steeped in history and charm. From 12-6 pm on April 8th, the evening will include LivCo eclipse glasses, gumbo and non alcoholic beverage offerings. Guests are invited to bring their own chairs and blankets for a front row seat to this spectacle in the sky.
Eclipse After Dark Party
Keep the Eclipse festivities going from 5pm-on, with Cosmic Charlie Cafe! Music, good vibes, and more will all be present in this final solar send off!
SUNY Geneseo Events
